CANBERRA CUP RECAP

Last weekend our U14 Girls, U14 Boys, and U17 Girls headed north to compete at the Canberra Cup. This tournament is always a fantastic chance to build team bonds, challenge ourselves, and test our skills against top-quality opposition.

With multiple games each day, the athletes were pushed physically and mentally and managing recovery between matches is all part of the tournament experience.

Our teams rose to the challenge, coming away with some gritty wins against strong opponents and valuable learnings from playing some of the best junior teams in the country.

Our U14 Boys and U17 Girls competed in Division 1, gaining high-level experience against some of Australia’s strongest club sides.

Our U14 Girls teamed up with players from @mcwaterpolo, @dvewaterpolo, and @cronullawaterpolo to form a combined Division 2 team. They went into the grand final undefeated, and although they couldn’t quite match the polish of a well-drilled Sydney University team, second place was an incredible achievement for a newly formed side.

A huge thank you to our coaches Lachie, Catie and Ben for guiding our athletes, and to our managers Netti, Daniel and Andrew for keeping everything running smoothly.

And thank you to all of our parents, whose positive support throughout the weekend helped make the experience such a success and great fun for our teams.

Finally, many thanks to @canberrawaterpoloacademy for hosting such a well-organised event. We can’t wait to be back next year!

Go Tigers!
